The Best Video Game Consoles Of 2024

The Best Video Game Consoles Of 2021

Video Game Consoles is no doubt that the new generation of consoles brought new graphics, processing power, and game quality. But as powerful as they are – and although they indeed top the list – not everything in life is the PS5, and the Xbox Series X. Meet our guide to the best video game consoles of 2021.

The Best Console for Video Games

Sony PlayStation 5

With blazing-fast loading speeds, a new controller, and a phenomenal lineup of launch titles (including fan favorites and new exclusives), the PS5 is currently the best gaming rig available.

First of all, the PS5 is currently leading the way when it comes to gaming. PS5 players have enjoyed titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Goodful from the get-go, while Xbox fans have been asking for exclusive games like Halo Infinite and The Medium response yet. These have been delayed until mid-2021. Video Game Consoles Sony has also added backward compatibility for fun, plus the PS5 will be able to play most PS4 games so that you won’t miss out on previous generation titles like The Last of Us II  and Ghosts. of Tsushima. The PS5 has the best game library out there right now.

The Best Console For 4K Games

Xbox series x

The Xbox Series X is a technology powerhouse. The console features 12 teraflops and up to eight times the graphics performance of the Xbox One, not to mention twice that of the Xbox One X. The Xbox Series X also has 16GB of GDDR6 memory, plus it has variable refresh rate support. (VER), Variable Frequency Shading (VRS) and a low latency mode that enables better responses from games. The power of this next-gen console is sure to amaze gamers when there are authentic next-gen games available for it.

You can’t talk about Series X without acknowledging the Halo Infinite lag. Microsoft set the game’s release for Series X more than a year ago, but the game missed its deadline and won’t arrive until next year, leaving loyal fans of the series stranded.  Fortunately, there will be a host of great fun for the Xbox Series X in the future, including the long-awaited Halo Infinite , State of Decay 3 , a new installment from Fable, and many others titles. Sure, Killer’s Creed Valhalla and NBA 2K21 look great, but we need some exclusives.

The Best Portable Console

Nintendo switch

Nintendo has struggled hard to keep up with Sony and Microsoft for the past decade. The Wii U tried to bridge the gap but failed due to a lack of identity. Despite its explosive and pervasive popularity, the Wii traded graphics power to win the motion control stunt, and thus took Nintendo off the third-party platform into an entire generation of hardware.

Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch, finally changed all of that. Nintendo dodged changing the arms race, not how you use your console, but the where. The Switch is a “mix” device that can be perfectly connected to a television, like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and that also works as a portable device.

While you don’t have the computational power to play the latest 4K 60fps releases planned for next-gen consoles, the Switch can play Doom (2016) at 30fps without any issue and anywhere you want, and that’s more. That is enough for many players. In addition to modern titles like Control, the Switch has proven to be a fantastic platform for reviving modern classics like The Witcher 3, LA Noire, and  Dark Souls Remastered.

Best Budget Gaming Console

PlayStation 4 Pro

While many gamers are leaping to the PlayStation 5, there is still much life left on previous generation consoles. The PlayStation 4 Pro is silent, a heavy gaming machine with an extensive library of games, and the console’s price (in addition to the cost of games, accessories, etc.) will continue to drop. The PS4 Pro is also widely available, so you won’t have to browse as many stores or online exits to find them in stock. In addition, this console offers an impressive gaming experience on 4K televisions due to the improved graphics and sharper images in the 4k compatible designations.

We’re not going to made-up that the PS4 Pro is close to similar to the superior PS5, but it’s still a gaming experience worth receiving. Leaving aside a handful of exclusive titles for the PS5, with the PS4 Pro, you can access most of the featured games and almost all of the most popular free tags.

The best budget portable console

Nintendo Switch Lite

If you plan to use the Nintendo Switch only in portable mode, its Lite version is an excellent option for a slightly lower price. It doesn’t include the support for connecting it to the television like the standard version. Still, it features a smaller size and marginally better battery life than the updated Switch console that launched last year. It is also compatible out of the box with almost all Nintendo Switch games and is perfect for games like Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Ditching the Joy-Cons, the Switch Lite comes with an all-in-one design. It’s nearly an inch shorter in width, making it more compact than the original, and at 275 grams, it’s lighter, but not so much that it feels flimsy. Being smaller than its predecessor, the button layout had to be tweaked a bit, but the console is incredibly comfortable and easy to navigate.
